John Murdy Creative Director/Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood visited Midsummer Scream 2022 and gave fans an exclusive sneak peek for this year's event. Fans were treated to the announcement of SCARECROW: The Reaping, an new original house coming to the Hollywood theme park this Halloween season. Murdy gave an in-depth backstory based on The Great Dustbowl, and previewed the characters and costumes we can expect to see. A teaser was also given to another original maze based on a series of deaths at a hotel in the Hollywood Hills. An even bigger surprise was the special guest appearance by Slash, who will once again collaborate with Universal Studios to on a soundtrack for a Universal Monsters maze. Midsummer Scream is an annual, weekend long Halloween & Horror convention. The event showcases the diversity of Southern California’s haunt and horror community, while inviting fans from around the world to experience a weekend of excitement and non-stop spooky fun with over 350 exhibitors, a dozen mini-haunts and attractions, panels, presentations, live performances, and more. This year's event took place Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31, 2022.
