Knott's Merry Farm 2019
Joy is in season at Knott's Merry Farm now through January 5, 2020. The park down the street may have fireworks and a parade, but if you want a true, down-home holiday celebration, head to Knott's Merry Farm. The entire park is decked out in holiday decor and landscaping. Roving carolers, nightly snow, a dozen holiday and themed shows, a crafts village, character interactions, and a variety of holiday food and merchandise options offer more than one visit's worth of festivities.
Knott's Merry Farm is a holiday tradition, which gets better every year. For 2019, a new musical production takes the spotlight on the Calico Mine Stage. "Home for the Holidays" is a must-see, not only for it's heartwarming tale, festive musical selections, and talented cast, but for it's impressive stage... which features a house that opens up during the production. This is a showstopper!
The ever popular "Merry Christmas, Snoopy! On Ice" is back to dazzle parkgoers of all ages. Seats at the ice show are highly sought-after, and the 2,100 seat Schulz Theatre fills up quickly for every show. Arrive early!
Also new for 2019 is a brand new holiday melodrama in The Bird Cage Theatre. "Marley's Wings" is a sequel to Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol," and revisits Ebeneezer Scrooge one year after the night he is visited by the spirits of the past, present, and future. The talented troop of actors perform "A Christmas Carol" and "Marley's Wings" on an alternating schedule throughout the day. While we were sad to hear "Gift of the Magi" was not returning this year, we were more than pleased with the new production which is heartwarming, funny, upbeat, and a a lot of fun. Do not miss it!
Visit on an empty stomach, as the Culinary Team at Knott's has created dozens of meal options and dessert selections which you will want to try. Our favorites are the Turkey Bites, available on the patio of Santa's Christmas Cabin. You get two of these pan fried balls of turkey deliciousness. Each ball contains all the fixings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, smothered in gravy. We CRAVE these!
The Hot Chocolate Mini Bundt cakes are our favorite dessert. For snacking throughout the day, head to the Ghost Town Bakery and grab a sack of Christmas Bark, which offers a variety of flavors. During the Media Night preview, I must have eaten a dozen pieces of the Milk Chocolate English Toffee flavor by myself. (Don't tell anyone, but I snuck a few pieces of it out in a napkin... it was so good). A partial list of holiday eats can be found below.
Looking for that perfect holiday gift? Knott's gift shops offer numerous options for every member of your family... From clothes to limited edition collectibles. Special 2019 Merry Farm merchandise is available throughout the park. On display during the Media preview was a large snow globe lantern with the Peanuts characters inside and Knott's printed on the outside. We searched high and low and we're told after they will be available at a later date. We will keep checking back. This is a must-have!
New this year is a plastic candy cane filled tube of the Park's own Berry Market Jams and Jellies (the Knott's original recipe).
Throughout Ghost Town, find dozens of local merchants selling everything from wood carved crafts, to bath products, to eco-friendly bags and purses. Make holiday slime at Miss Doolittle's, purchase an adorable wooden reindeer at Country Craftin', or a hand-made birdhouse at A Cute Little Shop.
