Summer Nights at Knott's Berry Farm

No need to travel to a galaxy far, far away to have fun this summer. In a galaxy much closer (Buena Park), Knott's is celebrating Summer 2019 with the re-opening of their visitor favorite water rapids ride, which has received an extensive refurb with expanded theming and impressive animatronics and has been renamed "Calico River Rapids." During the day, the high-energy "Beach Blanket Beagle" entertains the masses inside the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. During daylight hours, throughout historic Ghost Town, the streets of Calico come alive in an interactive, entertaining, and downright fun "Ghost Town Alive" experience which has won theme park industry awards. Once the sun begins to set, the party starts! "Knott's Summer Nights" (through August 11), features multiple stages in the center of the park that is home to rotating bands playing a variety of music ranging from Top 40, to Zydeco. In between musical sets, guest DJs will keep the crowd dancing from high-atop the Boardwalk Shop. A variety of walk-around characters with names such as Helen Highwater, Duncan Disorderly, and Anita Drink interact with guests as they take photos and fun giant-sized classic games. No party is complete without food, and the culinary team has come up with a variety of tasty and tantalizing treats to indulge on.

Sample the flavors of summer through a special $35.00 tasting card available to purchase at several locations throughout the park. Two dozens options are available at booths around the Calico stage. You can purchase each item a la carte, but using the tabs from your tasting card provides a greater value. Sample eight items, or get multiples of your favorites. From what we sampled, everything was tasty. The Chili Frito Pie was delicious, as was the Shrimp Taco. A variety of desserts are available for those with a sweet tooth. Lemonades as well as beer and wine are included on the card to quench your thirst. Not all punches need to be redeemed in one visit, but they do need to be used before Knott's Summer Nights comes to a close in August.
