Spooky Farm fun for All Ages

Candy. Friendly ghosts. Themed shows. Knott's Spooky Farm is back with Halloween fun for all ages. The daytime event runs Saturdays and Sundays (9 a.m. - 5 p.m) through the end of October and Halloween Day (10 a.m - 5:30 p.m.). Ride overlays, trick or treating, themed shows, interactive activities, and creative craft projects offer an alternative to the more sinister and scary event later in the evenings. Unlike its nighttime counterpart, Knott's Spooky Farm is included in daytime admission and does not require a separate ticket. One catch though... the candy handed out by friendly ghosts and spooky shopkeepers is given to children only. This event has grown over the years and has become incredibly popular. The entertainment offerings are quite enjoyable. New this year is a telling of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in The Bird Cage Theatre. Told in classic melodrama style, the show is laugh-out-loud funny and incorporates young audience members. The performance lasts about 20 minutes and should appeal to those of all ages. In the Calico Saloon, a comedic magic show is also a nice addition to Spooky Farm. Over in Camp Snoopy, "The Monsters are Coming Charlie Brown" returns for another year. Trick or Treat stations have been spread throughout Ghost Town and the Mission Trail (the Forsaken Lake scare zone at night). Calico Park offers adorable photo ops, and for a small fee, pumpkin and cookie decorating. Miss Doolittle (formerly of Ghost Town) is back and is offering crafts for sale and the opportunity to make your own bracelet or necklace. Ride overlays include the Timber Mountain Log Ride and the Grand Sierra Scenic Railroad. See a variety of animals and creepy crawlies in the livery stable on Main Street. The entire park is decorated for Halloween and there are numerous locations to snap family photos and selfies. The park atmosphere sets the perfect mood for a wildly enjoyable day that will put you in the Halloween sprit without scares. Knott's Spooky Farm is a ton of fun this year!
