Today, Knott's Berry Farm made the official announcement via social media... "Cue the fanfare! We made it to 100 pins! This 100-week, 2-year journey had more twists and turns than GhostRider! From the crowds waiting at the gate on the first day to all the amazing moments in-between, we can only say “THANK YOU” to our loyal friends and fans whom we consider family here at Knott’s. To celebrate we will be releasing a 100 Pins for 100 Years Limited Edition Collection Set! More details about this collectible will be available soon. Stay tuned!:
Today was also the day Knott's fan group "Knott's Pin Traders and Collectors" set a weekend gathering at the Knott's Marketplace. To thank loyal collectors and to premiere the much anticipated FULL 100th Anniversary Pin Set, Merchandise Manager Karl Busche, along with Jeff Tucker, Allen Palovik and Eric Lynxwiler were on hand.
The full anniversary collection, in the hand-crafted "K" case, with all 100 pins attached inside will be available soon at Virginia's in the California Marketplace. Exact date of release and price was not yet available.
Karl confirmed that all pin molds were destroyed after the initial limited run of each pin, and that the pins in these cases were from the original allotment. Several of the early pins have sold out. Other can still be found for sale around the park.
Originally, the 100 pins were to be released in 2020 during the park's 100th Anniversary. World events and park closure delayed the program. As mentioned in the video, pins were released online during the park closure and available for pick-up. The final pin in the series was released this past New Year's weekend.
theFUNnelCakeBlog managed to collect 96 of the 100 pins, with two full sets of each!
In the video, be introduced to the team and see how pins were selected!
A big thank you to Gloria and Christine for setting up this fun event!
